WOTCH receives Environment Victoria's Community Environment Award 2018
WOTCH is delighted to have received a 2018 Community Environment Award from Environment Victoria in recognition of our work to protect Victoria’s precious forests. The Community Environment Awards recognise the achievements, courage and persistence of groups going “above and beyond” for Victoria’s environment.
Awards were given to groups who “run gutsy, persistent and smart campaigns in the face of adversity” - and we couldn’t be prouder to be recognised in this way.
Environment Victoria also acknowledged the work of Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, Save Westernport - No AGL Gas, MASH Community Solar, and Doug Gimesy and the Victorian Alliance for Platypus-Safe Yabby Traps. They also acknowledge the incredible achievements and contribution of Linda Parlane, whose dedication and passion is an inspiration.
We are incredibly humbled to have been recognised alongside the other award recipients, who demonstrate courage, strategy and community in their work to protect the environment.
Environment Victoria have been campaigning for Victoria’s environment since 1969, and focus on campaigns to protect our climate, promote healthy rivers and sustainability across the state. They’ll be celebrating their 50th birthday next year.
